The lyrics have changed which is a totally pointless exercise seeing as all we do is end up singing the irresistible original lines over the saccharine re-edit. What I find odd is that they even took out the rather sweet spoken part at the end when Barbie states that she loves her Ken. Could this mean Barbie has truly dumped Ken for Midge? I once had a Midge doll. I always got the feeling that she harbored a secret love for Barbie. Thus I dressed the two up in cowboy de rigueur and they had their very own "Even Cowgirls Get the Blues" romance. Is this turnaround by Mattel a huge failure? I don't think so. It will hopefully provide more $ for the Aqua bunch who'll push out their album next year...
