The best singles 2006 that weren't.

We'll be returning to the girlbands very soon, but since we did our top 10 singles, it's time for the two best songs that didn't make it to being actual singles and probably now won't be. Surely if released properly they would've both been #87 smash hits.

Dannii Minogue – He’s The Greatest Dancer

Ok so this isnt as good as it is on first listen. But you can’t go wrong with Sister Sledge and like fine wine the radio edit has aged well. It was originally due for November but then it was put aside for the Children In Need single. However along came Emma Bunton and the huge media machine that was Strictly Come Dancing. Dannii was given a small performance slot as a sorry from the BBC but the song was shelved. It now finds itself with lots of mixes which sink on awful trance compilations.

La Toya Jackson – Should’ve Left You

This track from La Toya’s as-yet-unreleased Startin’ Over leaked earlier this year and it’s fabulous, but then coming from the most talented Jackson you’d expect that. Her new album is expected early this year following her appearance on CBS’ Armed And Famous but this track isn’t expected on it as she’s apparently cutting the tracks dealing with her abusive husband and focusing on positives, so enjoy it here and now!
