Nic Kat hails from Australia and is a dance legend. If Dannii is "Queen of Clubs", Nic would be her prince charming. I'm sure the two could produce a bloody brilliant dance duets album filled with glorious collaborations and covers. He's worked with Marcia Hines writing songs for the Australian icon and released tracks with the Swedish legend that is Stonebridge. All of his material comes with lashings of throbbing choruses that will get ya dancing madly on the dancefloor. Its his modus operandi. A lot of his latest releases are mainly "feat.Nic Kat" but in all of them are distinctly Nic Kat. The Stonebridge collaboration,"I Believe In Love", is perfectly anthemic while the track "82-86" is very hardcore. How else could one take on the lyrics:
"Fuck 82-86 I don't want love...I just want sex"
There are so many levels in which I could interpret that chorus. Alas not now. His song "Scream" recalls Jimmy Sommerville, Alison Moyet and Dannii's amazing "Can't Sleep At Night". His music is deeply personal, severe and although quite clearly for the clubs there is also a real pop element to his work. I'd like him to explore of the pop sound/house sound on his album. I'd love it if he hooked up with Stonebridge or The Attic. Some Lovin', which is available now, really shows off his vocal capacities. He sings it as its. No bull lyrics nor none of that screaming that emanates from that other Australian male singer who now lives in the UK....Nic is definitely one to watch out for this year!
