Finally, the long awaited premier of the collab between one of my favourite Swedish acts Fibes, Oh Fibes and Kim Wilde has happened on Swedish radio (p3 Musik). They treated us fans of Wild/Fibes to a tiny snippet while they were recording the song back in May & finally we can hear it in all its dreamy glory. Its amazing. I love love love love love love love it! If your a fan of the Breakfast Club, anything by Kim Wilde, The Ark, Van Halen and Kylie you will really like this. It has all the punch of the 1980s but refuses to retrace that old synth 1980s trope that we've in abundance recently (thanks Lady Gaga, La Roux). I effing love this.
I can see Molly Ringwald sing this to Scott Robinson. I can see East Berliners break down the wall and head straight towards the discoteque's of West Germany & dance to this. I can see myself both at the age 5 and 26 dance to Run To You in the living room with the all important hairbrush as the microphone. With my Jem & She-Ra dolls as my backing singers. Okay enough of that!
The duet is will be released on the new album by Fibes, oh Fibes called '1987' which is out in August. The band consists of Christian Olsson (vocals and piano), Mathias Nilsson (guitar) and Edvin Edvinsson (bass). Christian Olsson said 'This is an old childhood dream. The album is called '1987' and is about coming to terms with our past. For 20 years I had a dream to record with Kim Wilde. She was the first girl I fell in love with.' Kim and Fibes oh Fibes! will appear on the Swedish television programme Sommarkrysset on September 5, the television premiere for 'Run to you'.

it's brilliant to see Kim get out the garden - and this is rather heavenly and wonderful. Not quite as glorious as Four Letter Word, but nothing is, so this still ranks as very very good indeed!
Well it is no less than fantastic. Fibes have lots of good songs and this one shines, with the lovely Kim WIlde singing on it. Magic...
I loved the first 2 Fibes albums and the first single from this new one was bloody marvellous.
Hope the Wilde duet lives up to expectations, I am sure it will.
